Get REEL is a non-profit organization that works closely with our primary sponsor, Keep America Beautiful Affiliate, Keep Winter Haven Clean & Beautiful.

Get REEL offers practical fishing experiences for children and families throughout Florida and provides fishing equipment for children that would possibly not have access to equipment and the fishing experience in any other way.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF GET REEL

Get REEL volunteers show up at local parks and recreation centers, put on a fishing derby with fun prizes and awards, outfit children with the necessary fishing equipment (that they can borrow or take home), and then share a strong message regarding water safety, fun and fishing, and looking out for the environment. Many of these programs include a free lunch for participants. The goal at the end of every fishing day is for children to have fun and look forward to returning to fishing again and again…

HOW WE DO THIS

Volunteers and Business Partners collect NEW, USED, AND BROKEN fishing and water safety equipment, have it repaired or replaced, then we meet with children and families, recreation programs, and park initiatives that drive the love of fishing, water safety, and environmental stewardship messages!
